This code list is used in association with the OS Land Cover Tier B attribute which is present within the Water Feature Type. The code list provides a detailed description of water land cover, where known (for example, reeds).

Coniferous Trees

An area of cone-bearing trees, for example, yews, pines, firs, larch and generally not more than 30m apart.

Inland Water

Bodies of water that are not significantly influenced by normal tidal action.

Inter Tidal

An area that is covered by water outside periods of low tide.

Made Sealed

A manmade surface that consists of a solid material that is bonded (i.e. is not loose).

Non-Coniferous Trees

An area of trees that do not bear cones; these include Ash, Aspen, Birch, Horse Chestnut, Maple, Oak, Poplar, and Sycamore and generally not more than 30m apart.

Reeds

An area of tall, stiff, marsh or water grass of various kinds.

Scattered Coniferous Trees

An area of cone-bearing trees, for example, yews, pines, firs, larch and generally more than 30m apart.

Scattered Non-Coniferous Trees

An area of trees that do not bear cones; these include Ash, Aspen, Birch, Horse Chestnut, Maple, Oak, Poplar, and Sycamore and generally more than 30m apart.

Tidal Water

Bodies of water that are influenced by normal tidal action.
