Road Node
A point spatial object that is used to break up the Road Network for connectivity. The Road Network splits for the following circumstances:
The location where an attribute recorded on the Road Link changes (for example, its name or form)
The intersection or crossing of roads (including bridges, flyovers, and tunnels where there is no connectivity)
The start / end of a Road feature
Where a one-way routing feature starts or ends
Where a tunnel starts or ends
Change of local highway authority
Where there is a connection to the Path Network
As part of a data enhancement programme in late spring 2023, we have now captured what were previously Site Routing Point features as Road Node features. This means that there are now additional Road Node features contained within this feature type. These additional nodes make it even easier to create a routable network which considers access to Site features.
Temporal filtering
The earliest date on which you can request a one-off snapshot of a date in the past for data in this feature type is 29 September 2022.

Primary identifier for the feature. The OSID is a Globally Unique Identifier (GUID) and requires no centralised authority to ensure uniqueness. Note that the same OSID can occur in more than one feature type when a single feature is represented multiple times in the OS NGD.
